I need a new n*gga for this black cloud to follow..cause while it’s over me, it’s too dark to see tomorrow.

NaS - Queens Get The Money
Ayo,
Queens get the money
Nigga is still screaming
“Paper chasing”
But presidential candidates
Is planning wars with other nations
Over steak with masons
Pregnant teens give birth to intelligent gangsters
They daddies faceless
Play this
by ya stomach
Let my words massage it and rub it
I’ll be his daddy if there’s nobody there to love it
Tell him his name Nasir
Tell him how he got here
Momma was just having fun
With someone
Above her years
Niggas is still hatin
Talking that “NaS done fell off with rhyming,
He rather floss with diamonds”
They pray “Please God, let him spit that uzi and the army linin”
[Queens Get The Money Lyrics On http://www.elyricsworld.com/ ]
“That shorty doowop
Rollin oowops
In the park reclining”
Take 27 emcees, put them in a line and
They out of alignment
My assignment
Since he said +retirement+
Hiding behind +8 Mile+
And +The Chronic+
+Get’s Rich But Dies Rhymin’+
This is high science
Now add 23 more
For Queens to be more
I’m over they heads
Like a bulimic on a see-saw
Now that’s +50+ porch monkeys ate up at the same time
+Nasty NAS+DAQ
Ya’ll gonna bow holmes
This is DOW +Jones+
80 cal. chrome
Needed time alone
To zone
The +Mac+k left his +iPhone+
And his nine at home
My queen used her milkshake to bring ya’ll to my slaughterhouses
I do this for the group home kids and boarding houses
This that nigga shit that’s on the album
For them niggas inside the chalk linin, 40 houses
Bring back Arsenio,
Hip hop was aborted, so NaS breathes life back into the embryo
Let us make man in our image
Spit it
I’m Huey P.
And Louie V.
At the eulogy
throwing Molotov’s for Emmitt
You ain’t as hot as I is
All of these false prophets is not messiahs
You don’t know how high the sky is
The square mileage
Of earth or what PI is
I’m the shaky hand that touched George Foreman in Zaire
The same hand that punched down
devils that brought down the towers

A gem from the greatest 40 minutes of hiphopNas - Queens Get The Money (Prod. By Jay Electronica)
I know he dropped out of school in the 8th grade. But please, don’t think that everybody can do that. Stay in School Y’all. There’s only ONE Nasir Jones.
The Tipping Point
I was in 9h grade when my life forever changed by this album. ILLmatic entered my life earlier but not until about 7th grade did it just completely shock me into a stooper. i was always turned off by the cover with nas as a child grillin u it always had an eerie aura about it an i would just by pass it goin thru my brothers collection, i was stuck on pac’s(my brother’s favorite mc) and biggie’s ready to die but when i finally just listened to illmatic it blew my mind it went deeper than either than them without even trying. i dont need to explain why or how it does and if i do go castrate yourself and slit your wrist and i really mean that shit fuck your life…i digress. but anyways it showed me skill and creativity beyond belief at such a young age it was mind blowing.
then Stillmatic was released in 8th grade and i witness the greatest battle and also what i believe was the slow demise of hip hop, why because nas tore jay a new asshole resurrected his career created the greatest catalog in hip hop and jay-z becomes the greatest rapper alive because he’s radio friendly, like i said slit yo wrist fuck yo life, not jay-z all his dick riders. it made me want to rap, in class me and my homeboy jason who just came moved to north lauderdale from far rockaway queens use to sit in history class and write punchlines back and forth ranking on each other….just punchlines like 4 bars then pass the paper vice versa.
until The Lost Tapes were released about a year later. i stopped rapping and i began writing. no promotion beside 1 commercial u would see during rap city in the basement yea i know i miss hip hop too… but the commercial was basically a picture of the cover and the instrumental for “Purple” and it programmed me i was a fuckin zombie i sad i have to get that album, kinda like i was Frankenstein. when it was released i had my cd player (yea cd players remember this is 2002) at the bus stop every morning vibin out to this. the lyrics were just as good as ILLmatic but the concepts were better its like this was the 2nd ILLmatic everyone was looking for just from an older more polished nas. i didnt skip a track and all of these song were song that didnt make to the I Am… album and Stillmatic, which i believe if they did make it to I Am… it would have changed the game Jay-Z wouldnt have felt like he could challenge him he would still be in his shadow(skill wise) as he was and i believe still is (trust me he still dont want it with God Son).
i dont need to go track by track because u should check it out yourself. i think it gets over looked so much because its leftover tracks, but these left over tracks shits on anyones album ready to die reasonable doubt anyone’s shit the lyrics were there the concepts were there and dare i say the beats too? yes god damn it what everyone faults nas for this is the answer but no one looks to it as a reference. he had the alchemist, partner in crime L.E.S (life’s a bitch, if u aint know) kanye, trackmasters etc, every song just was perfect thats all i can say, and its not bias nor am i coat tailing his nuts because im critical of everyone especially of nas because i have so high of expectations of him, pretty much because of this album.
this album was and is timeless classic its like it was meant to happen the way it did because its a compilation but it sounds just so sonically fused. it gave me a standard that i see most people dont have, which is ok because im eating peanut butter and jelly while the rest are eating turd sandwiches and love it just as much as i am with my pb&j. nas continues to push boundaries especially with damian marley (album of the year Distant Relatives) while jay-z is giving u the same bullshit(american gangster was good but it aint him it was more of a unofficial soundtrack besides that he career of quality ended with the black album).
the lost tapes means alot to me it showed me what can rise from just leftovers, the forgotten and the forgotten is inspiring my own writings for which i believe my name will be remembered as we reach a pivotal time in human history wheather by one person or the world over this album is my inspiration and i thank u nas eternally………
p.s. please excuse spellings capitalization and punctuation errors, im lazy your luck u got this from me….
